Although men
can be treated with Botulinum
Toxin Type A for cosmetic
procedures in the same way as
women, they require higher doses
of the drug in all treatment
areas, according to a new study.
There has
recently become a growing
interest in cosmetic procedures
by men. Although most practices
see a majority of women, the
number of male patients who seek
treatment is slowly increasing.
The study was published in the
November 2007 issue of
Dermatologic Therapy.
The study has
also revealed that the required
amount of the drug per treatment
area was higher in heavyset men
compared with slender and
small-boned ones.
Scientists
have concluded that Men Need
Higher Doses of Botox.
