The BuzzMake it a dateThe Los Angeles Times explored the phenomenon of couples making a date for cosmetic surgery as men try to keep in step with their younger-looking spouses. In the article, the publication noted that many wives, after they undergo procedures themselves, are bringing their spouses to the plastic surgeons office. Perhaps its due to all of the makeover shows on TV, but men are now paying more attention to their bodies. We are finding here at the Palm Harbor Plastic Surgery Centre, women are having their procedures and their husbands are coming in for their procedures shortly after. Men are going for liposuction of the chest, belly, love handles and neck.
Men with chestsGynecomastia is no laughing matter for young boys who are teased because of their excess chest tissue. With the summer season just ahead it is beach weather. There are many men who will not take off their shirts due to constant teasing and embarrassment. Occasionally the pediatrician will say to their patient, "Don't worry, it will go away". In the mean time they wait and wait and there goes their precious teenage years. Treatment for Gynecomastia is available.
Pretend Plastic SurgeonsThe Boston Herald on March 15 and the St. Petersburg Times on March 20 and USA Today on March 27 examined the issue of patients going to plastic practitioners for cosmetic procedures without realizing the doctors are not specialists. As plastic surgery's popularity continues to rise, many physicians are experimenting in techniques beyond the scope of their original training. This is placing patients in potential jeopardy.
